heXweeper is just like a classic minesweeper game, but with the exception that each cell has only six neighbours instead of eight.

Tip: click the 'Download' link on the left to enlarge the game and relieve eye strain.

New features in version 1.1:

- You may now flag and unflag without using the keyboard - just hold down the mouse button for a bit.
- You'll never die on the first click, because there'll be no mines in that area.
- The timer starts ticking only after the first click.
- Minor bugfixing.

That is very cool. I play the 'normal' minesweeper very often, to the point that I've memorized a lot of the patterns in the way numbers are arranged and mines fall. Half the time I don't really even think about where I click. It's just 'two 1s and a 2 like so means mines are here'. This one forces me to carefully analyze what I'm doing if I don't want to die (still haven't won). The sound effects are fun too. *pop pop pop* They amuse me.

Thank you for the kind words :)

Well, I played my game many times and won only once or twice.

I've noticed, however, that heXweeper is less interesting than normal minesweeper. There are no situations where you have to stop and think for a minute. You just have to seek the 'good' patterns, and click at random if there aren't any. But that might be relaxing...

As for the sounds (pop-pop-pop), I've created them myself with my mouth :)

I met a logical situations twise already! It happens sometimes. :)

Ok then :) Will you please take a screenshot the next time you encounter such "logical" situation? ;)

 Nice game. It's fairly challenging to think of the classic game in a new way :XD:. Could you make so that the first circle you click turns into a blank space (gets rid of or moves the mine), that way you don't have to worry that your first click will end the game? :)

Hello, I've just released the new version of heXweeper with the improvement that you suggested. Enjoy =)

:w00t: Very awesome, though I still haven't beaten this yet, you have me hooked :eager:. Do you have a feature where if you hold down a key (like shift) over a number you have uncovered, and have located the mines around that circle, the hidden circles become uncovered? So if I open a circle in the middle of a new board and see a 1 and then I mark the circle to the left of it as a mine, is there a way to uncover the other five circles automatically? I'm rather used to doing that in regular minesweeper and it reduces the number of mistakes I tend to make

Wow, I did'n know there's such a feature in the regular minesweeper! I guess there'll be version 1.2 soon =)

Well, in normal minesweeper, when you hold down both mouse buttons over a number and have the correct number of mines marked, the other hidden squares reveal themselves (for better or for worse), but I figure you probably can't do both buttons in Flash without editing some of the menus and what not... so it'd probably be easier to just use another key

:w00t: Can't wait :giggle:
